The Nepal Climbing Sport Association (NCSA) was established in 2010 A.D. (2068 B.S.). As a
national association dedicated to sport climbing in Nepal, NCSA is affiliated with the Ministry of
Youth and Sports and registered under the National Sports Council of Nepal (NSC-88). Our
main objective is to promote this sport nationwide, conduct various sport climbing competitions
among the youth of Nepal, and foster the development of this sport throughout the country.
The Nepal Climbing Sport Association (NCSA) has successfully organized numerous
national-level competitions and actively participated in prestigious international events, such as
the 18th Asian Games held in Jakarta-Palembang in 2018, in collaboration with the Nepal
Olympic Committee (NOC). In addition to these achievements, NCSA has taken a significant
step towards global recognition by applying for affiliation with the International Federation of
Sport Climbing (IFSC).
Vision
Our vision at NCSA is to proudly represent Nepal in future Olympic Games. Sport climbing has
been included as a proposed main sport for the 2024 Paris Olympics in France. By
wholeheartedly pursuing this goal, our aim is to highlight Nepal’s remarkable talent in sport
climbing on the global stage and enhance the nation’s reputation in the world of sports.
NCSA and IFSC Affiliation
As NCSA is affiliated with the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC), our association
aims to bring together professional climbers from Nepal and provide them with a career platform
in this sport. We facilitate the selection of national climbers for youth championships, climbing
world cups, and world championships. Through this process, NCSA strives to nurture
exceptional athletes in the country and propel them towards participation in the 2024 Olympics,
striving to create the best of the best climbers in Nepal.

IFSC is an international non-governmental and non-profit organization. Their main objectives
are the direction, regulation, promotion, development, and furtherance of climbing
competitions around the world. Furthermore, IFSC has committed itself to undertaking the
following goals:
To encourage, promote, develop, and supervise climbing competitions worldwide
To promote the spirit of the Olympic Movement, respect the Olympic Charter, and to seek
programme status in the Olympic Games
To promote good sporting practice
To establish training courses for all IFSC officials in order to guarantee the highest
possible standards
Our Mission & Vision
To increase the timely aspiration of the general public towards the sports relating to sport climbing & rock climbing sports. To expand the games relating to sport climbing & rock-climbing sports throughout the territory making it more disciplined, respectable and manageable focusing on it’s proper development.
To conduct or cause to be conducted the competitions at the different levels and sectors relating to sport climbing & rock-climbing sports. To carry out or cause to be carried out necessary work for the right, interest and the welfare of the players and the coaches relating to sport climbing & rock-climbing sports.
To suggest or opine the council, Olympic Committee and the Government of Nepal as per necessity in relation to the development and expansion of the games relating to the sport climbing & rock-climbing sports and carry out necessary cooperation in this regard. Letting the national and international players participate in the sport climbing & rock-climbing sport.
Subject to complying with the prevalent laws and the policy and directive of National Sports Council and in keeping coordination with the concerned bodies, the objectives of the association are as follows :
- To increase the timely aspiration of the general public towards the sports relating to sports climbing & rock climbing sports.
- To expand the games relating to sports climbing & rock-climbing sports throughout the territory making it more disciplined, respectable and manageable focusing on it’s proper development.
- To carry out or cause to be carried out necessary work for the right, interest and the welfare of the players and the coaches relating to sports climbing & rock-climbing sports.
- To increase the participation of students, youths, women and the general public towards sports relating to sports climbing & rock-climbing sports.
- To conduct, develop and expand or cause to be expanded necessary technical manpower which is required for the games relating to sports climbing & Rock Climbing Sports.
- Letting the national and international players participate in the sports climbing & rock-climbing sports.
- To carry out or cause to be carried out other necessary functions to attain its objectives.
