Felicitation Ceremony Honoring NCSA Board Member Mingma David Gyabu Sherpa on His Election as Proportional Member of Parliament of Nepal

The Nepal Climbing Sports Association (NCSA) organized a felicitation program today to honor its board member, Mingma David Gyabu Sherpa, on his recent appointment as a Member of Parliament under the proportional representation (samanupatik) system from the Rastriya Swotantra Party.
On the occasion, the President of NCSA, Mr. Ramesh Kumar Poudel, extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for a successful tenure. He expressed strong confidence that Mr. Sherpa will play a significant role in addressing key challenges in adventure sports and tourism at the national policy level. He further emphasized the importance of raising these issues in Parliament to ensure sustainable development and institutional support for the sector.
The General Secretary of NCSA, Santosh Maden, formally read the felicitation certificate, which was then presented to Mr. Sherpa by the President.
A renowned mountaineer, Guinness World Record holder, and philanthropist, Mr. Sherpa received warm congratulations and best wishes from all NCSA board members for his new role and future contributions.
Addressing the gathering, Honorable Member of Parliament Mr. Sherpa highlighted the urgent need for coordinated efforts to advance sports and adventure tourism development in Nepal. He proposed the establishment of a multi-purpose stadium on land allocated to NCSA in Budanilkantha. The proposed facility would include infrastructure for ice climbing and skiing, along with hostels and essential amenities to support athletes’ training and skill development.
Mr. Sherpa also reaffirmed his commitment to raising sectoral challenges in Parliament and working towards long-term, policy-level solutions for the development of adventure sports and tourism in Nepal.
